Africa, a continent that has been plagued with disease and poverty for decades is now trying to connect to the world by pleading to the international community for aid in bridging the digital divide between the first world nations and their continent which is made up of third world countries just struggling to get clean water, food and basic medicine.

In examining the African nations push to connect to the rest of the world through the World Wide Web I will examine the global communities, mainly the United Nations, attempt to create a framework for funding and supplying poor nations especially African ones with the infrastructure and hardware needed to run sophisticated technology.

I will also discuss how the technology will improve this poor nation’s community considering many have nothing to begin with.
